In Memory

Wendell Bogden

Birth:  Nov. 18, 1957
Death:  Jul. 30, 2002

Wendell R. Bogden, son of Marilyn Sharp Bogden and the late William (Bill) Bogden, passed away on July 30, 2002.

He was born on November 18, 1957. He was the second born son of six children. His surviving siblings are Larry Bogden, Ronnie (Teri) Bogden, Gary (Anna) Bogden, Lisa (Layne) Statner, and James Bogden.

He is survived by his only son Justin Ryan Bogden, many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Growing up, Wendell had many close friends. He had a huge heart, was generous and befriended all. He attended Hillcrest High School, where in 1977, he set a State record for the 330 yd. intermediate hurdles. After high school, he married Brenda Peterson, and was later divorced. Wendell worked for Kennecott Copper Corp. until leaving to become a power plant start-up coordinator which took him to many locations across the U.S. and around the world. He loved his adventures on the job and loved sharing them with others.

He enjoyed time spent with his son, Justin, especially watching him play sports. He loved Justin dearly. He also loved his nieces and nephews and the time spent with them. Wendell had a passion for the outdoors and all sports, especially the U of U football team. He was a very talented cook; he always left a mess but the mess he left was well worth it (he loved a great steak). Wendell was one of a kind. His stories and his crazy antics will be remembered always. "We'll miss you, Windbucket!" Funeral services Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
