In Memory

Chad Basso

Our loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to all, Chad Basso, age 36, has taken his next journey in life to be with his mother, brother, sister, nephew and other family members on August 12, 1995, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on September 13, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Henry and Elaine Paulsen Basso.Served four years active duty in the United States Navy and nine years in the Naval Reserves, where he made many friends. While serving in California he met his wife, Gail Lynn Cox, and they were married on November 4, 1978; marriage later solemnized in the LDS Temple on January 12, 1995. He was a very talented and hard working person, whose positive attitude and sense of humor enriched the lives of all who knew him.

THE BEST

God saw you were getting tired

and a cure was not to be,

So He put His arms around you

and whispered "Come with me."

With tearful eyes

we watched you suffer

and saw you fade away.

Although we love you dearly,

we could not make you stay.

A "Golden Heart" stopped beating,

working hands put to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He only takes 'The Best'.

Chad held the position of home teacher coordinator. He wants every member of the Midvalley 1st Ward to know how much the family appreciates the continuous support, love and friendship. It's because of you and our other special friends that our family will be together forever. Thank You! We would like to give a special thanks to all the nurses who cared for Chad.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Gail; daughters, Amanda Jo "Mandy", Heather Marie; dad, Henry; sisters, Karen Trujillo (Chris), Sandra Martinez (Tony); and nieces and nephews.
